And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, (Philippians 1:9-10 NKJV)
Love is a funny thing, Jesus said love everyone like yourself, that is one of the most difficult things to do. The key to this scripture is listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit…..Jesus loved the sinner but hated the sin……today I pray we can all be like Jesus in the way of loving one another and being good to all, even the ones we don’t care for…….Be Blessed
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17
Ask. Seek. Knock. Each of these verbs is dynamic, energetic. True prayer is not a lethargic experience; it is a vigorous participation in the plan of God. It is the soul’s fervent endeavor toward the kingdom of God.
But each verb also connotes something else: neediness. One does not ask, if one does not need. One does not seek, if one has already found. One does not knock, if the door is standing open. Prayer is recognition that you need God.
The reason, therefore, that we have not prayed as we should is because we are either too spiritually lazy to labor in prayer, or we are too content to feel our need of God. Which are you?
Regardless, the good news is this: for those who awaken to their desperate condition and follow hard after God, God has promised universal acceptance and success. Everyone who asks will receive!
But perhaps you have not received. Perhaps you have not found. Perhaps you still stand at the closed door with bloody knuckles and a growing doubt in your mind. Why hasn’t God answered? Why won’t he turn the lock and swing open the door?
Do not give up, beloved. God always gives to everyone who asks who is seeking his kingdom– he has given us his word. He will either give us what we have been begging for, or he will give something better.
“I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.” 1 John 13:15-17 NIV
This scripture is a great reminder of how I always want to be, I have always prided myself on leading by example and not by dictatorship and I believe this is what Jesus is talking about here. Today’s prayer is that we would all put this scripture into place in our lives and please our Lord more and more
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17
“LOOK TO GOD CONTINUALLY for help, comfort, and companionship. Because GOD is always by your side, the briefest glance can connect you with The LORD. When you look to GOD for help, it flows freely from HIS Presence. This recognition of your need for GOD, in small matters as well as in large ones, keeps you spiritually alive. When you need comfort, GOD loves to enfold you in HIS arms. GOD enables you not only to feel comforted but also to be a channel through whom GOD comforts others. Thus you are doubly blessed, because a living channel absorbs some of whatever flows through it. GOD’S constant Companionship is the pièce de résistance: the summit of salvation blessings. No matter what losses you experience in your life, no one can take away this glorious gift.” para-phrased – “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young
I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. PSALM 34 : 4 – 6
Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. PSALM 105 : 4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 CORINTHIANS 1 : 3 – 4
Prayer: God I’m so grateful for your constant companionship. When I feel alone I know I never am because you are always with me, comforting me. Use me to comfort others today Lord, just as you have comforted me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Let the one who is doing harm continue to do harm; let the one who is vile continue to be vile; let the one who is righteous continue to live righteously; let the one who is holy continue to be holy.” “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” (Revelation 22:11-13 NLT)
Do you believe God is a God of second chances? A God that forgives once and for all? When the New Covenant came Jesus brought never ending forgiveness to all who call upon his name and make him the Lord of there life. This scripture speaks that until the coming of our Lord let the choice of how people live be their choice, Jesus will judge all according. Today I pray that we would spread the gospel to anyone we can, we don’t know when his return will be, but the promise he has given should not be missed……Be Blessed and use your testimony to witness Jesus to the unsaved
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17
“TRY TO STAY CONSCIOUS OF GOD as you go step by step through this day. GOD’S Presence with you is both a promise and a protection. The LORD, JESUS CHRIST’S final statement just before HE ascended into heaven was: “Surely I am with you always”. That promise was for all of The LORD’S followers, without exception. The promise of GOD’S Presence is a powerful protection. As you journey through your life, there are numerous pitfalls along the way. Many voices clamor for your attention, enticing you to go their way. A few steps away from your true path are pits of self-pity and despair, plateaus of pride and self-will. If you take your eyes off GOD and follow another’s way, you are in grave danger. Even well-meaning friends can lead you astray if you let them usurp The LORD’S place in your life. The way to stay on the path of Life is to keep your focus on GOD. Awareness of GOD’S Presence is your best protection.” para-phrased – “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” MATTHEW 28 : 20
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. HEBREWS 12 : 1 – 2
Prayer: God thank you for the promise of your presence which is a powerful protection. Lord when the world tells me to look within myself for power, remind me of the truth – that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Christ in me is my power source. In Christ’ name I pray. Amen.
Job 1: 4-5; A record of the common practices of Job, a good man who feared God and stayed away from evil.
“4 Every year when Job’s sons had birthdays, they invited their brothers and sisters to their homes for a celebration. On these occasions they would eat and drink with great merriment. 5 When these birthday parties ended—and sometimes they lasted several days—Job would summon his children to him and sanctify them, getting up early in the morning and offering a burnt offering for each of them. For Job said, “Perhaps my sons have sinned and turned away from God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.” It is not known for sure, but Job probably lived during the days of the patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob) before God gave his Law or appointed priests to be religious leaders. During Job’s day, the father was the family’s religious leader. Because there were no priests to instruct him in God’s laws, Job acted as the priest and offered sacrifices to God to ask for forgiveness for sins he and his family had committed. Job did this out of conviction and love for God, not just because it was his role as head of the house.
Do we carry out our spiritual duties because they are expected, or spontaneously from the heart of devotion?
“May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.” 2 Thessalonians 3:5 NIV
The bible says the condition of a mans heart defines him, what is the condition of your heart? Do you give expecting? Do you help out but complain? God knows our heart even though we can camouflage it. Today’s prayer is that we would have the heart of Jesus, all giving and giving with nothing but love never expecting anything in return…….Be Blessed
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new
“BE PREPARED TO SUFFER FOR GOD, in HIS Name. All suffering has meaning in GOD’S kingdom. Pain and problems are opportunities to demonstrate your trust in The LORD. Bearing your circumstances bravely—even thanking GOD for them—is one of the highest forms of praise. This sacrifice of thanksgiving rings golden-toned bells of Joy throughout heavenly realms. On earth also, your patient suffering sends out ripples of good tidings in ever-widening circles. When suffering strikes, remember that GOD is sovereign and that GOD can bring good out of everything. Do not try to run from pain or hide from problems. Instead, accept adversity in The LORD’S Name, offering it up to GOD for HIS purposes. Thus, your suffering gains meaning and draws you closer to GOD. Joy emerges from the ashes of adversity through your trust and thankfulness.” para-phrased – “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. JAMES 1 : 2 – 4
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy. PSALM 107 : 21 – 22
Prayer: Lord when trials come, and you are upfront and tell us they will in this life, help me to offer it up to you for your purposes. To draw near to you and cling to your promise to use everything for good. I trust you Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
The name Jesus is a precious name to believers. It’s the name that brings them comfort and joy. It’s the name they love to hear exalted in preaching, it’s the name through which they pray.
It is a name given by divine appointment. It was not left to the family to pick a name. The angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and assured him with the message “that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost” and informed him that the child’s name should be Jesus. Matthew 1:21
It is a name with meaning and it is the right name. Some have been given a name with meaning but have failed to live up to the name, but Jesus proved the name is rightly his — he is the Savior.
“He shall save his people.” His people were under the curse and condemnation of sin but he came to rescue them. His people were deserving of wrath and judgment, but he came to deliver them. His people owed a great debt they could not pay, but he came to pay it.
When he said at Calvary, “It is finished” the work of redemption was indeed complete. Nothing needed to be added to it; nothing could ever be found lacking. He paid the price and got what he paid for. The Redeemer actually redeemed.
