My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? Psalms 22:1
They gave me poison for food, and for my thirst they gave me sour wine to drink. Psalms 69:21
But the others said, Wait! Let us see whether Elijah will come to save Him from death. And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit. And at once the curtain of the sanctuary of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook and the rocks were split.
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani? that is, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? And some of the bystanders, hearing it, said, This man is calling Elijah. And one of them at once ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine, and put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink. But the others said, Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him. And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit. Matthew 27:46-52
When Jesus hung on the cross he finished all!!!!! He felt forsaken to have been the perfect man and to go through all he did. When it says the” veil was torn “in the Old Testament the priest could not approach God and in death Jesus made a way for us to boldly approach God. As we go through this day meditate on all that was given for us on the Cross….. Forgiveness , redemption , mercy, grace, all things have been given to us in Christ Jesus…..Be Blessed
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17
