“THANKFULNESS takes the sting out of adversity. That is why GOD has instructed you to give thanks for everything. There is an element of mystery in this transaction: You give GOD thanks (regardless of your feelings), and GOD gives you Joy (regardless of your circumstances). This is a spiritual act of obedience—at times, blind obedience. To people who don’t know The LORD intimately, it can seem irrational and even impossible to thank GOD for heartrending hardships. Nonetheless, those who obey The LORD in this way are invariably blessed, even though difficulties may remain. Thankfulness opens your heart to GOD’S Presence and your mind to GOD’S thoughts. You may still be in the same place, with the same set of circumstances, but it is as if a light has been switched on, enabling you to see from The LORD’S perspective. It is this Light of GOD’S Presence that removes the sting from adversity.”

Prayer: God as I give you thanks regardless of my circumstances, open my heart to your presence and my mind to your thoughts. Remove the sting from adversity as my eyes are fixed on you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Do you vent about everything? Or do you take it to the Lord? This proverb calls venting foolish, but to hold the feelings back is wise. Today’s prayer is that we would not vent! If your mind needs a focal point, gaze at JESUS CHRIST, The LORD’S Love poured out for you on the cross. Remember that nothing in heaven or on earth can separate you from that Love. This remembrance builds a foundation of gratitude in you, a foundation that circumstances cannot shake. As you go through this day, look for tiny treasures strategically placed along the way. GOD lovingly goes before you and plants little pleasures to brighten your day. Look carefully for them, and pluck them one by one. When you reach the end of the day, you will have gathered a lovely bouquet. Offer it up to The LORD with a grateful heart. Prayer: Lord as I sit quietly with you, fill my mind with thankfulness. Open my eyes to see the big and small blessings you have placed in my life today. And when my mind needs a place to focus, remind me to focus on Jesus. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

The world can just straight out kick your butt!!! But will you let it? This scripture tells us that greater is Jesus that is in us than Satan who is in the world. Day by day can be rough but we have to confess this scripture when the trials arise. Such samples of heavenly fare revive your hope. Thankfulness opens you up to these experiences, which then provide further reasons to be grateful. Thus, your path becomes an upward spiral: ever increasing in gladness. Thankfulness is not some sort of magic formula; it is the language of Love, which enables you to communicate intimately with GOD. A thankful mind-set does not entail a denial of reality with its plethora of problems. Instead, it rejoices in The LORD JESUS CHRIST, your Savior, in the midst of trials and tribulations. Prayer: Lord no matter what goes on this week help me to have a thankful mind-set. To praise you on the mountain top and in the valley. May you be my focal point this Thanksgiving week and may I be a reflection of Christ wherever I go. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Sometimes it seems like the attacks are never ending, we are surrounded by evil all day every day, but in this scripture Paul writes take heart God will deliver us from all evil. God’s plan for us is not to suffer but to have peace and joy knowing what awaits us when this life is done. The day you gave your heart to Jesus life truly began. The day you gave your life to the Lord you were so full of joy, so full of doing what was right in the Lord’s eyes, are you still that committed or have you changed? The Lord says he delights in following his ways and so should we. Today’s prayer is that we would all do a once over and check our condition. It can also be a source of deep discouragement when your works don’t measure up to your expectations. Shift your focus from your performance to GOD’S radiant Presence. The Light of HIS Love shines on you continually, regardless of your feelings or behavior. Your responsibility is to be receptive to this unconditional Love. Thankfulness and trust are your primary receptors. Thank The LORD for everything; trust in GOD at all times. These simple disciplines will keep you open to The LORD’S loving Presence.”

Prayer: Lord thank you that I don’t have to perform well to receive your love. Your love is unchangeable. Nothing I do could make you love me more or less. You are my constant rock on which I stand. Teach me to love like you do. Transform my heart. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Jesus came to save the world, not condemn it! Jesus went to the lost to show them the way to eternal life, some followed and some didn’t. Today it has remained the same, some follow and some have too much pride to understand they need a savior.
