“ENTRUST YOUR LOVED ONES TO GOD; release them into The LORD’S protective care. They are much safer with GOD than in your clinging hands. If you let a loved one become an idol in your heart, you endanger that one—as well as yourself. Remember the extreme measures GOD used with Abraham and Isaac. GOD took Isaac to the very point of death to free Abraham from son-worship. Both Abraham and Isaac suffered terribly because of the father’s undisciplined emotions. GOD detests idolatry, even in the form of parental love. When you release loved ones to The LORD, you are free to cling to HIS hand. As you entrust others into GOD’S care, GOD is free to shower blessings on them. The LORD’S Presence will go with them wherever they go, and HE will give them rest. This same Presence stays with you, as you relax and place your trust in GOD. Watch to see what The LORD will do.”

When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Prayer
Prayer: Lord, I release my loved ones to you. You know the ones I tend to hold onto a bit too tight. They are safest in your capable hands, which frees my hand to cling to yours. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
