“GOD IS THE POTTER; you are HIS clay. GOD designed you before the foundation of the world. GOD arranges the events of each day to form you into this preconceived pattern. GOD’S everlasting Love is at work in every event of your life. On some days your will and GOD’S flow smoothly together. You tend to feel in control of your life when your wills are in harmony. On other days you feel as if you are swimming upstream, against the current of GOD’S purposes. When that happens, stop and seek GOD’S Face. The opposition you feel may be from GOD, or it may be from the evil one. Talk with The LORD about what you are experiencing. Let The LORD’S Holy Spirit guide you through treacherous waters. As you move through the turbulent stream with GOD, let circumstances mold you into the one GOD desires you to be. “BRING GOD THE SACRIFICE of thanksgiving. Take nothing for granted, not even the rising of the sun. Before Satan tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden, thankfulness was as natural as breathing. Satan’s temptation involved pointing Eve to the one thing that was forbidden her. The garden was filled with luscious, desirable fruits, but Eve focused on the one fruit she couldn’t have rather than being thankful for the many good things freely available. This negative focus darkened her mind, and she succumbed to temptation. When you focus on what you don’t have or on situations that displease you, your mind also becomes darkened. You take for granted life, salvation, sunshine, flowers, and countless other gifts from GOD. You look for what is wrong and refuse to enjoy life until that is “fixed.” When you approach GOD with thanksgiving, the Light of GOD’S Presence pours into you, transforming you through and through. The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” “You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. Prayer: Lord what a timely word. Help me not to focus on what I don’t have or can’t do in this season, but on the many blessings all around me of which are far greater in number! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

It is impossible for you to have a need that The LORD cannot meet. After all, GOD created you and everything that is. The world is still at GOD’S beck and call, though it often appears otherwise. You yearn for a simplified lifestyle, so that your communication with GOD can be uninterrupted. But GOD challenges you to relinquish the fantasy of an uncluttered world. Accept each day just as it comes, and find GOD in the midst of it all. Talk with The LORD about every aspect of your day, including your feelings. Remember that your ultimate goal is not to control or fix everything around you; it is to keep communing with GOD. A successful day is one in which you have stayed in touch with GOD, even if many things remain undone at the end of the day. Do not let your to-do list (written or mental) become an idol directing your life. Instead, ask GOD’S Holy Spirit to guide you moment by moment. Prayer: Jesus thank you for always taking care of me. As we approach Easter, help me to remember, talk to my kids about, and reflect on the significance of your journey to and through the grave. “BE STILL IN GOD’S PRESENCE, even though countless tasks clamor for your attention. Nothing is as important as spending time with GOD. While you wait in GOD’S Presence, The LORD do HIS best work within you: transforming you by the renewing of your mind. If you skimp on this time with GOD, you may plunge headlong into the wrong activities, missing the richness of what GOD has planned for you. Do not seek GOD primarily for what HE can give you. Remember that GOD, the Giver, is infinitely greater than any gift HE might impart to you. Though The LORD delights in blessing HIS children, The LORD is deeply grieved when HIS blessings become idols in their hearts. Anything can be an idol if it distracts you from GOD as your First Love. When GOD is the ultimate Desire of your heart, you are safe from the danger of idolatry.
