Accept each day just as it comes, and find GOD in the midst of it all. Talk with The LORD about every aspect of your day, including your feelings. Remember that your ultimate goal is not to control or fix everything around you; it is to keep communing with GOD. A successful day is one in which you have stayed in touch with GOD, even if many things remain undone at the end of the day. Do not let your to-do list (written or mental) become an idol directing your life. Instead, ask GOD’S Holy Spirit to guide you moment by moment. “TASTE AND SEE THAT GOD IS GOOD.The more intimately you experience The LORD, the more convinced you become of HIS goodness. GOD is the Living One who sees you and longs to participate in your life. GOD is training you to find HIM in each moment and to be a channel of The LORD’S loving Presence. Sometimes GOD’S blessings come to you in mysterious ways: through pain and trouble. At such times you can know The LORD’S goodness only through your trust in GOD. Understanding will fail you, but trust will keep you close to GOD. Thank The LORD for the gift of HIS Peace, a gift of such immense proportions that you cannot fathom its depth or breadth. When JESUS CHRIST appeared to HIS disciples after the resurrection, it was Peace that The LORD communicated first of all. While you wait in GOD’S Presence, The LORD do HIS best work within you: transforming you by the renewing of your mind. If you skimp on this time with GOD, you may plunge headlong into the wrong activities, missing the richness of what GOD has planned for you. Do not seek GOD primarily for what HE can give you. Remember that GOD, the Giver, is infinitely greater than any gift HE might impart to you. Though The LORD delights in blessing HIS children, The LORD is deeply grieved when HIS blessings become idols in their hearts. Anything can be an idol if it distracts you from GOD as your First Love. When GOD is the ultimate Desire of your heart, you are safe from the danger of idolatry. GOD created you to stay conscious of HIM as you go about your daily duties. GOD has promised many blessings to those who wait on HIM: renewed strength, living above one’s circumstances, resurgence of hope, awareness of GOD’S continual Presence. Waiting on GOD enables you to glorify GOD by living in deep dependence on HIM, ready to do HIS will. As you relax more and more, your grasping hand gradually opens up, releasing your prized possession into The LORD’S care. You can feel secure, even in the midst of cataclysmic changes, through awareness of GOD’S continual Presence. The One who never leaves you is the same One who never changes: GOD is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Prayer: God help me to not hold onto anything tighter than I hold onto you. Help me to rest in your presence, the only place where I am complete – and let go.
